Welcome to the second season of Seattle Pride Hockey League, home of Play with Purpose.
The second season will begin on Saturday, April 5 at Sno-King Ice Arenas – Kirkland, and will run for 18 weeks.
We’re excited to celebrate our second year of Seattle Pride Hockey League.
- We’re keeping our two separate registration windows—one for LGBTQ+ players and one for our amazing allies.
Everyone who registers for Seattle Pride Hockey League gets on a team.
However, for 2025, we are introducing an evaluation skate ahead of the season to ensure we can balance teams to the best of our ability. Please do your best to attend to ensure we can create the best team balance possible.

We’re on a mission to make Seattle Pride Hockey League the most inclusive, electrifying, and unforgettable hockey league—and you’re at the heart of it!
- Pre-season evaluation skate – To help balance teams, we’ll host an evaluation skate in mid-March.
- Monthly team socials – SPHA will host a potluck-style social each month at the rink, with one team providing snacks while we cover the main dish. (May, June, July, August)
- Improved substitute system – We’re refining the way subs are tracked and assigned to ensure better balance.
- Attendance focus – 2024 had a high level of absences, which impacted the experience. We’re looking at ways to keep teams balanced and ensure better participation.
Seattle Pride Hockey League will operate weekly from April 5 to August 30, with four (4) break / holidays during that time span.
Game times will be one hour (60-minutes) at 6:45 PM and 8:00 PM on the following Saturday’s:

Seattle Pride Hockey League will not operate on the following four dates for the spring/summer 2025 season.
- May 24, 2025 – Memorial Day
- June 7, 2025 – Seattle Pride Classic 2025
- June 28, 2025 – Seattle Pride
- July 5, 2025 – 4th of July
At Seattle Pride Hockey League, we believe in giving back—something we call Play with Purpose.
What Does This Mean?
Each season, Seattle Pride Hockey Association selects a nonprofit beneficiary to support. Players, family, friends, and supporters will have the optional opportunity to donate. For 2025, this nonprofit will be the Matthew Campbell Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
- Every dollar donated will be matched by Seattle Pride Hockey Association. At the first game of the season, we’ll present 100% of the proceeds to the Matthew Campbell Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
- Proudly Represent: Throughout the season, players will wear a special jersey patch honoring the Matthew Campbell Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

For the past three years, Seattle Pride Hockey Association has honored Matthew Campbell with our very own Matthew Campbell Memorial Scholarship program to create opportunities to play in Seattle Pride Classic.
Matthew grew up playing hockey in Juneau, Alaska. He went to college in Montana and was working on his Master’s degree in engineering when he was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive childhood sarcoma at the age of 23. Matthew had family ties to Seattle, so moved there with his partner George for specialized cancer treatment and joined the Greater Seattle Hockey League as a player and referee. Matthew was part of the original grassroots group who helped found Seattle Pride Hockey Association. He was looking forward to becoming more involved and helping produce the first Seattle Pride Classic 2020 (which ultimately canceled and became Seattle Pride Classic 2021). Sadly, Matthew passed away on April 19, 2020 at the young age of 24, only 10 months after diagnosis.
The Campbell family recently obtained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status for the Matthew Peter Campbell Memorial Scholarship Foundation. They’ve been building a memorial scholarship fund and have already awarded three annual scholarships to a Juneau/Douglas High School senior (where Matthew graduated in 2013). This is a unique, staff nominated award that is based not only on the student being well rounded and involved in community endeavors, but predominantly about kindness, as Matthew embraced this characteristic his entire, much too short life.
Andrew and Judy Campbell hope to build up enough capital in this fund to provide annual scholarships in perpetuity at Juneau Douglas High School and hopefully adding one at Montana State University as well in the not too distant future.

Seattle Pride Hockey League offers flexible participation options to fit your schedule and budget. For 2025, we’ll offer up to four (4) player types:
- Skater – Full-Time: $599 for a guaranteed spot with 18 games included.
- Goaltender – Full-Time: $299.50 for a guaranteed spot with 18 games included.
- Skater – Half-Time: $299.50 for a guaranteed spot with 9 games included.
- Goaltender – Half-Time: THIS IS NOT A SUB GOALTENDER LIST. THIS IS TO PLAY AS A HALF-TIME GOALTENDER.

Seattle Pride Hockey League is proud to offer zero-interest payment plans for the 2025 season to help ease the financial burden of participation.
Eligibility & Costs
- Full-time players are eligible for payment plans.
- [NEW] Half-time players are are half the cost of a full-time player and will be eligible for payment plans.
Payment Schedule for Full-Time Players
- Initial Payment (Due at Registration): 25% of total registration cost + $80 refundable jersey deposit.
- Second Payment (March 17): 25% of total registration cost.
- Third Payment (April 14): 25% of total registration cost.
- Final Payment (May 5): Remaining 25% of total registration cost.
Payment Policies
- All payments must be made on time according to the payment schedule.
- Players who default by more than 3 calendar days will be ineligible to participate for their upcoming game(s) until their balance is paid.
- No refunds will be issued for missed games, including those due to non-payment.
- Players with unpaid balances at the end of the season will not be eligible to return until their account is settled.
As part of the Seattle Pride Hockey League, each player will receive a loaner jersey kit consisting of (1) jersey and (1) pair of socks.

As part of registration, all players must provide an $80 refundable jersey deposit. This deposit will be fully refunded upon the satisfactory return of:

✔️ One (1) pair of matching socks
All items must be returned in fair and reasonable condition, free of excessive rips, tears, or holes.
USA Hockey Membership – Required
All Seattle Pride Hockey League players must have an active USA Hockey membership for the Spring/Summer 2025 season. This membership provides liability and secondary medical coverage in case of injury during league play. If you’re not already a member, you can register at usahockey.com.
Optional Registration Insurance – Play with Peace of Mind
