Thank you for your interest in becoming a Team Captain. Without Team Captains, we wouldn’t be able to produce a premium tournament experience for all participants. For 2024, it is our intent for Team Captains to assume a similar role they did for 2023.

If you wish to lead a team, please register as a Skater, and check the applicable box that you are interested in becoming a Team Captain. 

Once we have a pool of interested candidates, Seattle Pride Hockey Association will reach out to each individual to connect and hear your vision as Team Captain. We intend to select all Team Captains by Friday, April 12, 2024. You will then want to plan to participate in the below meetings. (Be sure to mark your calendars in advance in the event that you are selected!)

IF SELECTED AS A TEAM CAPTAIN, YOU WILL…

…prior to the tournament:

• Attend one virtual pre-tournament logistics meeting on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 7:00 PM via Microsoft Teams. Please mark your calendar in the event you are selected!

…during the tournament:

• Offer and lead introductions in the locker room prior to the start of your first game. This includes names, position preferences on the ice (don’t worry, every team will get handy lineup sheets), pronouns and potentially any strategies you may have.

• Direct and lead a team of LGBTQ+ and ally participants. This includes uplifting your team if you find yourself down a goal in the third period.

• Ensure all participants take part in both the Alaska Airlines: All Stars of Pride and Player of Pride nominations process. (You’ll get info on these.)

• Help facilitate participant questions as they relate to the schedule, locker room assignments, and team standings.

 As a thank you for your dedication and time as Team Captain, individuals selected to be Team Captains will receive a $75 gift card to utilize at 32 Bar & Grill.
